Customers get a more functional event management solution and going forward their maintenance fees will be 20% of their current annual renewal fee.This results in an immediate return on investment.EventCenter can also be combined with the LogMatrix Log Management (LogCenter) solution that is currently used by customers to handle billions of events per day.
Our replacement for Netcool/OMNIbus will collect the same data and events as Netcool and then correlate and analyze that information to produce actionable intelligence that significantly reduces the number of alerts reported, virtually eliminating false positives.

In addition, customers can consolidate their Netcool/OMNIbus Probes. The LogMatrix Collector(equivalent to an OMNIbus Probe) supports all types of event protocols. In contrast, each instance of a NetCool OMNIbus Probe is designed to only support one collection protocol. That means that each event type requires customers to license a separate instance of a NetCool OMNIbus Probe, whereas the LogMatrix Collector is one price for all event types. Given changes to the IBM licensing model going with the LogMatrix solution can result in significant savings.
